Has anyone used the nitro fuel additive called Nitro Blast? They claim increased power, higher rpm, longer engine life, lower noise, and lower idle. their web site is nitroblast.com i think. just wondering if anyone has tried it and if it really works?

sounds stupid, lower idle and lower noise is not possiable when at the same time they claim higher rpm and increased power. more power and rpm means more noise and how could an additive that is claimed higher rpm which means more nitro, have a lower idle? idle is just set by the adjustment and a low idle is not good....

Most of the time things that sound too good to be true, usually are, but not always. I haven't read much of it yet, but they do have some detialed reviews (reviewed by about.com, rc-cars.net, and a few others), testimonals test data, etc... to back up their claims. from what little I have read it looks like it is some kind of lubricant. Never know might be worth a try.

here's a link to the review page and home page, there is alot of info.

EDIT
I just read through a few of the reviews, looks like their claims hold up according to the reviews, the one done by RC universe (RCU) is pretty good review.

After reading through some more of this, I hink I am going to give it a try. they say it is not a lubricant it contains No petroleum distillates. There is no Teflon, PTFE, plastic, graphite, or moly. They say it is s synthetic that is attracted to heat and can, if used correctly, reduce friction by 75% (quite a claim).

for $8 bucks I am going to give it a try, if it even lets me run cooler, it will be worth it to me, living in S. FL I have problems running hot in the summer, it is still pretty hot down here most days.

I will llet you guys know after I give it a try.

I read it pretty carefuly, seems like it's different than the others, I guess I am willing to try it because of the reviews. what kind's of problems did they cause you?

Every thing from fouled glow plug , worn sleeves , excess goo inside the engine and shortned engine life.

Give it a try. I`m not telling you not to but all I want you to do is becareful.

Thanks for the advice, I am very new to this hobby (got my first nitro ior modern nitro in June 07. so it is good to know. I did have a couple nitro power stuff back before 1977 but I was young.

I still may try it, I will only try it in one motor if I do at all, the one I plan on upgrading first. some days in the summer I have a very hard time keeping the temps much below 300 degrees, even with a good tune, It has got to be the latatiude or being at sea level something. Winter time I have no problem at all keeping it around 230 to 250, some days in the summer it is easy to keep the temps good too.

something I did see on their site that I don't like is the dates on the testimonials and stuff are old, between 1998 and 2001, why nothing newer??

thanks agaiin

Ya, it is pretty cheap to give it a shot. but that is my big concern too, i wouldn't want to ruin a good engine. but if you do try it let me know how or if it works.
