Complete newbie to nitro, so apologies if it’s obvious

Car always tries to accelerate as soon as fired up regardless of idle screw adjustment, throttle trim etc

It’s now trying to pull forwards when engaging the roto start and if it starts it goes mental pulling forward at full speed, any attempt to adjust and just stalls it. Also the spur now won’t spin freely and car won’t move backwards

Guessing it’s bad news. Any ideas or link to previous thread much appreciated

Your clutch is sticking. Shoes are either melted to the clutchbell or the bearings are seized. Its a common issue. You need to take out the engine and inspect the clutch

upbasher1 is right but sounds like a broken clutch spring if the rest of the clutch assembly is intact.

Thanks guys was exactly that all clutch springs gone.
If it was a smaller/weaker engine, it just wouldn't start, but with a higher torque engine, especially with tires in the air, a busted clutch still allows it to start and run. Just dies when you give it brake.
