NEW To the Savage and Nitro

Hi there, not used an rc since building tamiya kits as a kid and had a Traxxas T-Maxx a few years ago but not for any length of time. My son now wants a nitro monster truck and I have heard a lot about savages and how customisable they are. I have seen a few different ones on eBay 2.5, 4.6, X, XL just want to know what it all means and what models to avoid if any. Also if I get an older one are the parts still available for them ? Just after a hobby we can both do together.

Most parts are backwards compatible. The X and XL models are going to be your best choices for nitro Savages. The difference being that the XL has a longer TVP (chassis), a bigger engine and some other minor upgrades.

I have a xl have had a few issues with her . but nothing that I would say bad things about it servos being the biggie but savages are tough I beat the hell out of it everytime I use it ive have takin her in sand mudd snow cold water and the biggie kids lol
