hey there, got myself a savage x a little over a month ago. haven't done much to it, just a pipe, body and wheels really. as well as lowing the stock shocks. still learning how to tune but have it running pretty good.

What should i be looking into to bump up the performance a bit, is the 3 speed trans worth getting for a guy who just runs causally?

and does anyone have eny experience with the reverse mixer from hpi? i would like to ad reverse but would rather do it without having to pony up to a 3 chan remote.

here are a couple pics, kind of a tribute to the 53 chev 1 ton my dad and i build

Very nice build Chibby.
If you want performance i would lose that pipe it's just a noise maker :lmao: even the stock hpi polished pipe is a good start..
I see a lot of guys run dynamite 086's...

yeah i'll be looking into a new pipe soon, that one is also makes it very hard to prime the fuel system. that was until i took a syringe out the the medicine cabinet.

the reason that one is on there is cause i crashed into a tree pretty hard the second day i had it and split the stock fiberglass pipe in two. that was all the store i stopped in had, and i just wanted it back up and running

nice looking truck , the 086 is a good bashing pipe I think .
I would save on the three speed and see what else you want first .
I don't like reverse my self and have just learned not to get in to tight spots anymore .

Oh and one thing, if you get stuck turning the savy around just say your on a little hill turn the wheels left and right and it will roll back 🙂

Lazy mans reverse, unless it 10 ft in front of you -.-

those look like late 20's early 30's ford model a tubs

there is a 28 model a on the 29 buick chassis, and a 29 nash on the model a chassis, there is also a second 28 model cab on a pallet up there to. just collecting a few more parts before we get started on another one.

thanks for the tips guys
