Hello all. This being my first post I'd like to say there is a good bunch of people here and a lot of info. And I need some.lol
I have a new Savage X. I have run about 5 or 6 tanks threw it. I'm starting to lean it out some. I'm about 1/4 to 3/8 of a trun from base line. My temp is around 210. If I let off the throttle or apply the brakes it stalls. Also the only way I can start it is if I give it some throttle. Is that normal? Thanks ya'll!!

Thanks guy's. I've been lurking for awhile. This is a great place. I will lean out the lsn 2morrow. I thought about it but wanted to get the hsn a little closer first. But that would make it stall when you break?

Before you make the LSN adjustment, check the carb gap first. There should about a 1 mm gap with the brakes applied. Should have told you this first, but I jumped the gun.. LOL. Good luck

Same Issue..

I have the same issue, if i start it i can't keep it on. As soon as i remove the ignitor it turns off. I'll try out some of the suggestions. Again, this is a GREAT forum..!!!

Lot's of info here and i plan on using it all.

Thanks guys. I thought the glow plug also. But it did the same thing with a new one. I hope to run a tank or two threw it today. It has been crazy cold here in VA. But were looking for 60 today. It started to run a little better when I leaned the lsn the other day. But it got dark on me.
Thanks again for the welcome !

Thanks guy's. Its running much better. Only now for some reason it will not steer. I have fresh batts thinking that might be it. But it will only turn when it wants to and real chopy then. It was fine the last time I ran it.

welcome to the forum and for the steering problem might want to get a hump pack if you don't already have one

southpaw, where in VA are you located? I am in Chesapeake and there are a few other members from the Hampton Roads area here.

dravage, Already use a humpback. If I have it on a stand it just jerk's when I try to turn it.
Allanq, I live in Cumberland. About 50 miles west of Rich. Close to Farmville.

I just took the steering servo apart. Its trashed. I would have thought it would have lasted more then 8 tanks of just yard play. Oh well time to up grade. :smiliejam:

welcome, as stated before lean it out a little and adjust carb, just remember to make micro adjustments, a little goes a long way.

I had the same problem with my savage some time ago. Once I had that LSN adjust correctly it stoped stalling. But like they guys have said adjust in very small amounts I have learned the hard way turning my needles like an oven nob. Now I just turn like 1/16th turns until I have it just right.
Still haven't built my savage yet, been sitting in the box since Christmas.
