hey guys!

Finally.. After 39 years old. I finally broke down and bought a real RC. And.. Not only that.. A week later bought a HPI Baja 1/5 scale too! Lol

So.. Story with my savage..

Savage 25 with a K46 big block. Paid 100$ for everything with lots of spare parts, but previous owner couldn't get it started. He also got it used.

Must be easily 5 years old.

I removed the engine, inspected the piston. Still a pinch once it reaches the top. Oddly.. But it's got compression.

I broke down and got new gas yesterday and a quality glow plug charger.. There is sign of life! It'll idol for about a minute with wheels spinning. But once the gas is pushed.. It stalls.

I've reset all 3 adjustments to stock, which is flush. I also notice the brake and throttle linkage is garbage. I modded a fuel line to fix my braking linkage. Seems to help. I'd rather get an after market setup, but can't find them for some reason??

Slowly getting the bugs fixed. I'm sure I need new brakes.. Looks like they're carbon drenched in oil. But that'll be looked at once I can actually start and drive it !

Once it works, I'm going to rip it down and rebuild it from scratch, it needs it!

Welcome to the addiction and the best Savage site out there!
I'm not sure what pin linkage you're looking for but someone better in the know than myself will be round shortly.

Ha! Gotcha! From what I've seen guys either run stock setup with fuel line in place of the spring (that's what I do) or do ofna linkage. I'm no help there, either. Lol!

Yep that's what I'm looking for. The ofna linkage kit.. Thanks!

Edit: ugh.. Discontinued. Ugh!

Any links to this mod? Basically I notice that my lever for the brake doesn't extend or retract fully when engaged. Perhaps weak servo? The linkage is shoddy and loose too. Originally the previous owner had a spring to help pull the brake lever back..

Doing this mod means that you're not dragging the throttle linkages while braking, getting the full power of the servo to the brakes.
