No I'm not but I have two savages and I can't believe I lost a fricken shock, maybe I left it at the shop by accident when we were checkin them out.

I believe that when you buy the IRC kit, the stand offs come with it. At least i hope they do because i have one of these kits coming to me... From what i have read, its a little better setup than the new era kit. I like the fact that the IRC kit has two "arms" where the shock mounts at the shock tower, i believe the new era only has one..

Yes IRC (Rob) does include the shock stand offs, when you buy the complete kit. It is a very nice kit you should enjoy it, it has lasted several of my beatings and has outlasted the LST shocks.

By the way, while i have the ear of someone who has done the LST shock mod... what is the agreed upon best weight of shock oil to put in these shocks for general bashing and preventing the shock rods from bending?

thanks much. The reason i have gotten the LST shocks is because i got sick of bending shock rods on the stockers and also the hot bodies.. of course i had read that the hot bodies shocks aren't the best, after i had bought and broke a set. Other than the shock situation, i love my savvies.. two X's and a 4.6 SS.

i'm running 45wt in my irc shocks.
the benifit of the irc kit is not only do the top mounts have three holes for suspension leverage adjustment, but the a arms do as well.

you can just about make out the other two holes in the a arms.
hope this helps buddy.

Dark - I like those shocks so much I bought a set for myself in blk as well as the 23mm adapters. Should be here this upcoming week. Just waiting for Rob to roll out with the blk tvps

Nice pic

hop, i said to the guy badmouthing them, and i will say to you, they impress from the off, but wait till they have bedded and settled in, mine now have no black on the shafts but are soo silky. even with 45wt they absorb the little bumps fantastically, plus they don't bottom out hard on big jumps, they do bottom out, just they don't slam through the travel. you will like them.

np. i'll have to get rob to put me on the payroll!
seriously tho, i cant fault any of my irc kit.
fitting of the a arms means lower hub carrier splitting, and driveshaft out the way. trust me it's easier to do it that way, instead of struggleing!!

sorry, rubbish explaination. the lower mounting for the shock is attached to the lower suspension arm with 2 bolts....
you have to remove the driveshaft to do the nuts on the back up properly....
so i removed the hub carrier (the bit top and bottom suspension arms mount to) to allow easy access, jus thought i'd give ya a heads up.

Hey darkshine... is that wheelie bar pretty sturdy? I have one that i have yet to install and thought i would ask. These threads have proven quite valuable as I travel down the path of Savage-enlightenment! Am stoked to get my LST shocks on there, its only been a year and a half in the making. Got the shocks that long ago, but for some reason never got the mount kit. Its on for sho' !!!!

Thats good news to hear. I had a new era purchased wheelie bar on a Revo of mine and that thing got bent up pretty bad. I am not a fan of Aluminum parts on these trucks.. Except for looks. For duribility and resilience.. can't beat RPM or good old stock plastic. My $.02.. thanks for the feedback.

Yes this is a great kit form IRC. The standoffs are also nice machined form SS. If you are running the X lower arms you will need to replace them with the savage 21 arms. I to use Team Losi 45wt silicon shock Oil.
