New LRP .28 Spec 3; Lovin' it

Hi all,

I finally got my truck (Savage X ) out today with her new powerplant. I had a ball!! I ran 5 tanks through just rolling around the yard, even 1/2 throttle was pretty impressive.

I just got one tank in to start tuning and boy I can tell this pup is going to want to run.

One question, every so often she would just quit. I could not pull the pullstart. I'm assuming vapor lock, as I loosened the glow plug and got her back in order. Is this normal when running very rich??

More than likely the sticking you are getting is from the Piston sticking a TDC because of the tight fresh pinch. This is normal for a while. It is probably dying becuase of being rich during break in and you will over come this as well with time.

nice choice, that was my runner-up when i was hunting for a new mill.

you think its fun now, just wait till she run's herself in about 1/2 to 1 gallon.

i think your rite tho, id lean the hsn a touch so it will still run a bit on the rich side during your break-in but wont load itself up with fuel & stall.

Thanks for the input, I suspected it was just a nuance of breakin. But it's always good to check.

I'm very pleased with the performance of this engine even at the early break in stages. This engine will be a beast, I will have to work on my driving skills 🙂

i went with the Picco .28

biggest factor that influenced my decision was that I'm hooked on runnin a modded mill & planned to get whatever mill i bought modded right away.

my buds here thought the picco would be a better choice for modding but some also say that the lrp is faster in stock form.

id show ya a vid, but i blew my front diff locking full brake on asphalt to avoid a collision with my son. just gotta put it back together tho.
