Well it's finished. Just need bloody Royal Mail to deliver the body shell been waiting over 3 weeks now. Alloy throttle bell crank fitted. Have finally managed to stop the shock caps leaking, after changing the cap seals they still leaked even with 50wt oil in them. The leak wasn't immediately but after about a week noticed them weeping from the threads so rapped the thread with PTFE tape and problem solved. The right size centre skid plate arrived from Innovative-RC so now no gaps.
Engine has been fired up and seems to run good, only bench run it as weather here in the Uk has been crap, had to replace the seal on the high end needle as when I primed the mill I got an eye full of nitro fuel from the needle, found the O ring seal from a F5.9 fitted the K5.9 mill well although the needles were different. Still waiting for the super duty Innovative-RC dog bones to be sorted out by Robert @ Innovative-RC as the ones I received were way to tight in the cup joints. (Tolerance error).
But all in all it looks like a good replacement truck for the truckzilla truck that I recently sold to boostjunkeee is mostly finished.

Yes, will hopefully get it painted this weekend. Going to go for Translucate Orange with Star Burst silver under that which will give a metal flake finish then back that with Metallic Orange, Bed will be black and lower skirt will be Gun Metal along with the bumpers. May do the bonnet the same colour but not decided on that yet.
Have got the body cut out now and fitted.

Painted & stickered the Body-Shell today, Came out pretty nice in the end. Ended up with a couple of runs in the Translucate Orange which wasn't good, Temperature was abit to cold and should have warmed the spray can up first but most of the runs I have managed to cover with the stickers. The metal flake has come out fantastic though. Just the replacement mill and Innovative-RC dog bones to do and it's another one for the collection.

Cheers bud, Yes must say it didn't come out the colour i thought it would, more of a copper orange but must say I do like it and yer the springs do set it off nice. Just need those dog bones back from Robert and my old 5.9 mill back off boostjunkeee. Don't know when Robert will sort out the bones but should have the mill at the end of the month although this one is still running fine. Fired it up last weekend and started on the button although did have to replace the O ring seal on the high end needle as when primed the line got an eye full of nitro. Pinched the one off that spare F5.9 carb I bought a few months back. Seems to have done the job.

The 5.9 ready and waiting for you, left the bit of pipe there for you too as replaced all with clear on mine

Got the IRC Losi shocks refurbed now and have started fitting them, Got the front one on but to fit the rears have to strip the rear of the truck out as need to reverse the rear turnbuckles so they fit in front of the wheels To do this I need to change the front low arm brace on the front of the rear diff case for a modified IRC one. Could just do away with the turnbuckle all together if i had a spare set of HD C-hubs but I anit so gotta do it the hard way. Still got to get the lower arm adapter blocks so I can pull the bottom of the shock in more as have quite a lot of angle from top to bottom.
Still not sure if I like these Losi LST shocks yet but they do suck up the bounce and are really, really smooth. Just a bit short for my liking. but still look good.!

Looking good mate in fact look better than I expected but see what you mean about could do with being longer!
Like they have a bleed nipple at top nice touch in design pity more didn’t have that! 👍🏻
How much oil does each one take just out of interest?

Yer still not sure i like them, will fit the rears at the weekend and see what I think with all 4 fitted.
They are quite short mate only coming in at 140mm cross the hole centres,
The standard small bore savage shocks are 165mm across centres and if fitted with 10mm limiter to enable the pre-loads to be removed are 155mm. The HPI big bores are 160mm across centres and 150mm with 10mm limiters fitted. Got a width of 35mm compared to 17mm for the HPI small bore & 22mm for the HPI big bores. See the comparison in the photo below.
All 4 shocks took about 1 & half 60ml bottles so pretty thirsty in that department, around 25ml per shock. Running them on a blend of 50/50 50wt & 60wt as all I had to hand of the quantity I needed, so should be somewhere around 55wt. The pistons fitted in these shocks look to be RCI ones as have 12 holes & not the standard 6 so should be fine on this viscosity.
Yer the bleed screws are a nice touch aswell,
From top to bottom they are:
HPI small bore with 10mm limiter @ 155mm
HPI small bore standard @ 165mm
HPI big bore with 10mm limiter @ 150mm
HPI big bore standard @ 160mm
Losi LST. @ 140mm

Shock widths:-
Left: Losi LST @35mm
Middle: HPI big bore @ 22mm
Right HPI small bore @ 17mm

And finally the IRC ultra heavy duty dog bones have arrived. These ones are nickel plated and best of all they actually fit this time. Been waiting near on 6 weeks for these replacements to arrive but now fitted well worth the wait. What's even better got 2 set for the price of one, plus Rob@IRC has thrown in 2x113mm Extended/Truckzilla rear drive shafts, 1x84mm rear/6mm extended front shaft & 3x78mm std front shafts all nickel plated so can't complain about that.
Decided to fit the 2nd set to the Green Carbon Fibre truck & the silver bones from that have now gone in the Orange Bounty Hunter truck.

Blimey those bad boys aren’t going to twist/bend in a hurry mate!
Worth the wait then after getting all those freebies, he does see the customer right in the end which we can’t complain at! 👍🏻

Well pleased with them mate, Only ever bought one set, he sent a 2nd set to try when the 1st ones were to tight in the ball-ends. Yes he does look after his customers I must say. These ones are from a new batch after I sent him some new axles & diff cups to use as templates. At £35 a set(4) & £7 x 2 for the extended rear shafts & £5.50 x 4 for the for the others. Plus he hasn't charged me for the Losi shock blocks which are £8.50. That's nearly £72 worth of freebies. Definitely no complaints from me and now he's getting better at replying to his emails it's a win, win situation.👍🆒. @Paul Williams has ordered a set of the 11mm ones for his Flux as well.
Going to ask him if he will make me a LowCG 6mm front, 1"rear extended kit for a Flux. He does them but as usual showing nil stock, which as we know means nothing with Rob.🙄😏

LOL. no not really it's just that I have that new gearbox Luke sent me by mistake so I might aswell use it. Anyway bored with building nitro savages at the moment, 14 on the trot is enough to do anyone's head in mate. Still need to finish basher No.2 off yet. Got a set closer today as now These IRC dogs arrived that freed up 2 set of std ones so put a set of them in it today & changed all the screws to hex heads aswell, still need 2 servos as knicked one for basher 1, a receiver, engine & shell. Then on to the Flux. There is still hope that it won't happen as still want another FG monster truck or maybe a 30° north buggie. But the way things are going with the cost of living now might have to put them all on hold.
You gotta love this country. Rip-off Britain were the rich get richer & the poor get poorer.👎😈👿

Same thing here in the USA, the filthy rich make zero contributions to the tax base and we poor folk have to eat beans and rice to stay alive while those with money dine on caviar and the best of everything.... something has to give, I vote all the rich pay 15% tax on every dollar they claim to have....

Dog bones arrived today i got 5 for the price of 4 so got one free! :);):p

So an update on my dog bones. I fitted all the dog bones today hardly took any time at all very simple the first two i fitted i removed the suspention from the towers to get extra room to the bones all went well but the other two on the other end i didn't remove the suspention just removed the upper arm by pulling the pin out and it gave me access to the bone again so was easier and quicker. Still need to tweak the camber and tracking on one end so all is good will post pics in a bit. :)
