K let's start with just got a older savage from my dad he got it n a trade . Needs a pull start or rotostart added witch way do I go . And then battery up front for the servos had 3 wires all other on I've seen have 2 wire what's the difference ? And then how do I tell what model or how old this thing is . Got a huge tote full of new parts still in packages so heck of. A deal but gotta get it running to see if worth it 20160515_171431.webpI20160515_171454.webp

Thats a Savage 21 or 25. Not sure what the engine is. Great rig. I don't quite understand the question on the radio parts, but I'd just put a pull start on it. Less to tote around in the field.

The battery that controls all in the front has 3 wires all the other batteries ive found only have 2

Well that :ercm: is an old Mach 26 from Losi racing.... as for the battery I am thinking they used 2 of the 3 wires and not the signal wire which is most likely not connected to anything....

Is that a good motor ? Is that a different pull start then what a normal savage pull start would be

I got into the hobby in a similar fashion. I bought a Savage 25 and a bunch of miscellaneous parts for $140. There was also a second Savage that he had begun converting to electric. I finally got the engine running, but now I have to replace the carb. I still think I got my money's worth, but I was told put on 2 tires, throw in some fuel and it will run.

Long story short, I'd be interested in knowing how this whole project turns out for you.

Usually that third wire (on the battery) is to a thermistor. For temperature monitoring during charging.

OK thanks now to get the thing running got my pull start n mail went to get fuel n the only hobby store near me is closed till the23

The M26 (dynamite mach 26) isn't anything that special these days. I want to say it came in the first LST's back in the day. Should be ok to get you going and if the savage is that old, it may have 2 spider diffs in it with plastic cups and sintered ring gear, which tend to die pretty easily.
