Here is the problem . It runs hot no matter how its tuned. The clutch bell get so hot it end up stripping the teeth. Then before the clutch bell goes the clutch shoes get smoked .

Here is what i did. Sealed the motor. Changed the fly wheel. New clutch bell new chutch shoes. New motor mount the old one had the two back screws stripped out causing the motor to sit at an angle.

If you have any helpfull suggestions please help.

thanks X25

30% the guy that i got it off of ran both 20 and 30 said it always ran hot and ate cb's and cs's

I can assume the bearing are in good working shape? So the engine has done this before in another truck with a different person?

same truck different person. just added anouther to the family btw. The bearing look to be good don't feel like they are binding up or anything

The fact that it runs on the hot side dose not bother me as much as it distroyed and new clutch bell and new shoes in less then a tank

I hope it works out for you X25, I believe that's the problem myself. Seeing as it ate the clutch bell and shoes.. I'm guessing the crank was turning just a hair off causing the clutch shoes not to gain much contact, and slipping constantly. Bearing was probably also tossing fuel down in the clutch assembly causing a lubrication effect on the shoes making them slip even more. You might not of even noticed it, but it can in fact cause a ton of heat. Slipping clutches can burn everything up in the clutch. I'd replace the spring/shoes and CB. Maybe even CB bearings. I'd check the spur gear while your at it.

Good luck bro, let us know how it turns out!

That's what I'm here for man. Glad to hear it's running good man! Sometimes something going wrong like that is caused by something totally different. 🙂 Now get some vids up of the beast running strong! 🙂 I can't wait to see it.
