Hi I just bought a used savage x 4.6. It's a clean truck I got it running then it died when I was tuning can't get it to start back up. I bought new glow plugs dinamite r4 and os lc4 20% nitro and it just won't start I've been using a drill to start it well the one time do the root starts turn faster ??

some don't have it, others get lost. reset the needles by bottoming them out gently and reset them to factory and start there

It tells me to flush the plastic with a groove on the brass do u know how many turns out I should go

High needle go about 3 turns out, if the low end, usually flush with the case is close to get it at least running...

Be careful using a drill on it i don't know if the 4.6 is like the 5.9 but I think that's what cause my one way bearing to fail..

that's unlikely. unless ur using a high voltage drill, or are spinning it very fast...

the hpi owb's at least can stand up to power drills. some engines cant.

keep some marine grease on the motor shaft to keep the owb from drying out, and to help it grip.

Using a drill isn't necessarily an issue. Where people go wrong is when they use a drill with the torque capability cranked up. This will cause damage pretty easily. Especially if the engine is hydrolocked.

Sorry Joey, it was not the drill, but extended cranking and the heat it generates that likely caused the OWB to fail.... if it does not fire up right away then you should be looking for the cause not keep cranking on it.... all my nitros fire off rather easily and I aint cooked that many OWB's in the last 10 years.......

Yea mine kept flooding and I had no idea that it was flooding it is my first nitro so I just assumed the battery was low in the roto start since the breaker kept flipping...so hooked up the drill and would use it to push the fuel out instead of doing it the right way..
