here is a pic of my good old brakes

the pads are from some sports car with copper fragments

i have been using these brakes for about one and a half year and there is no

showing of wear of any kind

the bolts that hold the calipers are 4mm with adjustable nuts on the ends

i still have not had to adjust them as the pads just don't want to wear down

the only problem with the stainless brakes were the pads coming off

i use real brake material from 1:1 sportscar ca glued onto the steel calipers
and same material between the disks so all the problems that the steel disks had are gone

also you must make sure that the cb wont rub on the disks

in some aplications the 17t cb against 47t spur would rub here is the solution to that

longer screws and aluminium plate under the motor mount

Normally if your disks hit your CB its the motor plate.(2 disks not 3) Its bent! Some times its just the screws backing out. I run ss disks with fiberglass pads

yeah in my case when i had just got the truck i went through this motor plate bent problem after bad landing

then i upgraded to the ss plate and tossed the cut out beams that were under it and threw in solid ones from the 3.5 savage

then i put on second roll hoop over the motor (i run them double) and haven't bent a plate since

the plate under the motor mount allows me to go off the gear chart and run 16t to 13 against 47t depending how thick plate i use

but i have only used this as a temporary fix as one time i didnt have my 17t cb with me so i was still able to run the truck by using out of range cb by raising the motor

works great for me but these steel disks require the use of a skidplate

as the most common way of deforming them is by hitting a rock or something

and i totally agree with everybody they are rubbish out of the bag as the

glue on pads and using steel pad between the disks what were they thinking

but the disks are very nice by themselves

so after adding a new kind of pad material and third disk the breaks are awesome

i do allot of high speed driving and braking so i heat my brakes allot

this was the only way for me to get rid of hig heat brake fade

i also went for 4mm machined bolts that go into the gearbox so they cant strip out of the plastic plus i glued them just to be sure
