Hello all. I wanted to share my story of my beautiful Savage. I got my Savage 4.6 after giving my wife the hardest time for over two months two years ago for my birthday. It was love at first sight. I was involved in the hobby when I was a kid over twenty years ago and back then I couldn't afford a nitro car or truck at all. My oldest daughter remembered my old Rc10t and got me a small rc from like five below. That got me started again. I didn't have the money to just throw into the truck all at once for upgrades so I did it little by little. I started with a hump battery pack and sway bar set. The sway bars make a great improvement. I moved on to getting a set of Fast Lane Machine extended low center gravity Tvp. Wow once again great improvement but no more wheelies. I also installed a new high torque servo for steering and took the old steering servo for throttle control. After successfully converting the truck to electric which I hated I lost my old piston and sleeve. I put in a novarossi 28-8 ps engine with a Novarossi pipe and manifold. To make a long story short which it may already be to late to do. I also got Fast Lane Machine's extended a arms with drive shafts. I sent the Novarossi piston to get ceramic coated which worked great. I also added a shim to the head and moved to 30% nitro fuel. I got the Integy wheel hubs and castors. The truck is almost completely aluminum silver. I almost forgot the gas tank guard. I did break a tank before that and finding a new one was so hard. I did get Fast Lane Machines diff gear box. It's great but has no mounting holes for the sway bars. So I only got. I think the integy may have the mounting holes. I got a pair of cheap aluminum shock towers from ebay that needed to be milled but worked fine after. I put in Fast lane machine's drag links, servo mount, servo mounting plate, motor plate and center skid plate. This truck is very heavy to say the least. Metal smaller spur gear and larger clutch bell. A lot of high end power. She is fast on a long straight away. Real fast. I don't have anything to check the speed but is scary fast. I already broke a Fast Lane Machine a arm and I have to say they are good about their life time guarantee. I sent them the old one and got a new one pretty fast. I can't think of anything else I want to do to the girl. I'll get a full set of ceramic bearings maybe a aluminum center gearbox. I would like to get the front and rear diff gear boxes but I want to see if Fast lane machine's will help me with them first by maybe by tapping some holes for the sway bars. If they could do that and get me a second one that will be cool. Anyway thanks for taking the time to read. Please keep your spelling and grammar corrections to yourself. I'll to post some pics of my baby girl. If you have any questions just send a message to the forum mailbox. Thanks again.

Are all Fast Lane tvps for low center 9f gravity?I just posted a set for sale, and now may be interested in keeping them if they lower the ride height.

It so low because he has his shock pistons almost completely up into the shock body. No absorption with that setup. Arms should be flat or angled slightly downward. That negative angle looks whack. If you want it slammed, get different shocks. The stock or the big bores aren’t what you want for that effect.

No. Just the low center of gravity version.

This is how you slam a Savage. Notice the arms are flat to the ground (bench). That’s how they’ll sit with the tires on too. Having the pistons up into the shock body is asking for trouble. You land it wrong, even on a small jump or hard wheelie and you’ll end up cracking the cap. Not to mention you’re going to be bottoming out the truck itself.

My XL sits low,but not from shock mods, just the position,it handled like a truggy,I was just curious as to the holes position on the plates, that looks like a good solid rid height mess1ah1.?

You are 100 percent correct. I have to say I mainly drive this little girl on a flat very large parking lot. Everytime she catches air I nearly have a heart attack. I have other less attractive car to beat on.

First and foremost.. Nice ride man hell yeah. My little girl can't pop wheelies anymore. Not even if I tried. I drive her like a touring car. My friend gave me a couple of traxxas trucks that I use to bash. I mainly use her to show off with. The savage was my first choice coming back to the hobby. I am in love. Can't even imagine her getting hurt.
