these are the most current hpi motors. that is a dead wringer for the first motors that came on the rs4 in 96. that is when i got my first hpi car.

first rs4s were belt drive 4th version is when the shifted to shaft. I had the first rs4 nice little car.

I must have a 4th ten then, mine is shaft driven, just never bought a motor for it. get some vids of it if you can

well it is belt driven and i don't look like any of them motors on that hpi site...i looks fairly old....but this thing still has punch, man does it fly.......i think it is faster than my savy x....what kinda motor is good for this????

A lot of guys drop OS18 motors in them. The TZ motors are rockets. They also use the Traxxas 3.3 motor on them also. All you have to do is get a motor mount and drop a motor in it. You may have to re gear do to the extra power. The first RS4 had a .12 motor and hit 40MPH on the radar so a .15 ya it can out run a savage if tuned right.

what do i need to drop a 3.3 in it??? and how should i gear it?? whats the best gears??

you would need a pull start TRX3.3 or OS18TZ, Then you would need the motor mount and screws. You may need clutches. As for gearing I don't know. You need to look at what your pinnion gears are now and see what you can get. maybe the next step up.
