This is my friends 25, bone stock except for a dual red fibre disc conversion i did for him some time ago.
He's had it for around a year but bought it used from eBay and its never had any maintenance or anything.
The engine is knackered, pretty much lost all compression and the spur is worn and almost stripped, hes been having probs with stripped spurs for a while now which i intend to get to the bottom of.
The two front-front shock shafts are bent and i think the tank is leaking.
This by no means will be an extravagant exciting build, but my friend is out of work at the moment and doesnt have the cash to get it fixed up, and well, i miss my bashing buddy and his young son is really missing the truck so i met up with him this evening and told him to give me the truck and il fix it up for him.
I know he wanted to put X TVP's on, X bulks, a better pipe than the stock plastic pipe he has and of course he needs a new engine, so he shall get them!! :jamout: well what are friends for eh?
Here are the parts il be using.
Il be using:
My K4.6 engine, has just shy of a gallon of byrons on it, its still fairly tight from new! Il be fitting the new roto-start backplate i bought with the engine but never used, he has a rotostarter already and his son is used to starting with it, a pullstart would be too much for him.
The stock plastic clutch is shot, so il be putting my used but still decent nova shoes in and 17t HPI vented bell + new CB bearings, shimmed.
My old X air filter with new foams
HPI polished pipe, iv just bought a new one for my truck so my old ones going on.
My old X bulks which are as good as new, a couple of used X towers and my old upper pin braces, il be drilling out my 6mm hex bulkheads to accept the 25's round 7mm joint posts coz i don't have any of the X ones spare, i now use flux bulks and the RSC so these are all parts il probably never use again anyway.
My old X TVP's, i gave these to him a while ago but he never got round to fitting them, so theyre going on.
Four of the shocks that are on the truck already are four of my old stock shocks and the four i have left are bent too so i have nothing to replace his two front bent shocks so................. my LST's are going on!! with the I-RC kit and my integy HD rear carriers! He fell in love with the LST's when he saw them on my truck and i know he reeeeeaaaly wants them so WTH i got my big bores now so theyre his!
Il strip the truck down, clean everything, strip down clean and refill the diffs with 30.000wt silicon fluid, they must be bone dry by now, replace the tank with my old stock tank that i know doesnt leak, replace fuel lines, then rebuild using all the above parts.
My I-RC LST kit is for X arms so i just ordered a new set of arms for my truck and il put the old X arms from my truck on so i can fit the kit.
As i say this is no majorly exciting build, just helping my friend out getting his truck running again and updated a bit.
