Ive had a big problem with melting spur gears, at first i couldnt tell if it was breaking them, or melting them, but I'm sure its melting.
My clutch shoes are very old. Is it possible that they are slipping, causing the clutch bell to warm up and melt my spur gear?
If so, would this also account for my lack of ability to wheelie?
I'm not exactly sure what my gear ratio is, but I'm pretty sure its a pretty good one for acceleration, I'm pretty sure its around 15/49 or 15/52. Do you think if i replaced my clutch shoes, i would have more acceleration?

If they are old it is very possible that they are slipping either they are shot of the CB is glazed. I would replace both. This would cause both your problems. Make sure that you get aluminum shoes. In most cases you will not get more acceleration but will get there quicker.
