Hey guys. I've had a savage for about a year, but I couldn't take the nitro BS. I have gutted it and now I'm ready to convert it to brushless. I'm going to have a Direct Drive setup with an outrunner and a MMM. It will run off of 5-6s 4500mah lipos for speeds up to about 46mph.

The MMM is a great esc and its proven to work wiht almost any motor. I have one in my Maxx that I will use in my build. The motor I am going to use is a Turnigy 50-65 380kv outrunner. It will be perfect for my truck because it should have a good mix of speed and torque. And the lipos are Gadex 4500mah 25-30c. I use them in my Maxx also and should have more than enough punch.

The motor mount and battery trays are going to be made of 1/4 in lexan. I have them cut out I just need to assemble them. I chose lexan because it is very strong and light.

I will get pictures up soon. What do you guys think?

what do i think? not sure how to put this into words ---> :bevis:

sounds like a kill-ah build (I'm from Boston) make sure you up date this thread with pics :resp:

I'm just using an outrunner in between two 1/4 in lexan pieces. Then I will use two RC Monster 8mm drive cups on the motors shaft and put the dogbones in. Its really simple and cost effective.

All I need is the motor and the drive cups, What do you guys think?

The Direct Drive setup is very simple. I took 1/4 in lexan and cut it into 7 1/2 cm by 6 cm. then when I get my motor I will cut holes in the lexan on both sides and screw the motor to it. After that I will install RCM 8mm drive cups to the shaft and install the driveshafts. Then I hook it up to my MMM and plug the batteries in.

I got some pics:
