Ok so I’m trying to get back into RC cars and I dug my savage out from the basement. It has probably been sitting for the last 8 years. Last I remember it ran, I just wanted to see if I could pull the pull start and it’s frozen. I'm assuming this has something to do with the motor from sitting. Is my motor shot? What’s the best way to get things moving again? It’s an OS .32 or .30 I can’t even remember, it’s been that long.

I would try taking it apart use some nitro cleaner then clean everything up reassemble then tune it if it'll start then use after run oil after each use.

Just don't force it. Could be the piston stuck in the sleeve or a bearing rusted stuck. You need to take it apart and see if you can tell what's stuck. Soak it heavily with penetrating oil and let it sit. Wrap a towel around the flywheel and rock it back and forth gently with pliers with the backplate off. It might break loose, then you can take it completely apart and figure out if it's just a seized bearing.
