So wondering what upgrades are most worthy and what order of importance? Thinking exhaust, servos or anything that improves truck. Also how many gallons should I expect out of motor if it's ran rite.

If you have everything as stock from the box, consider upgrading servos first thing, use something with metal gears and at least 200 oz in of torque for steering, a throttle servo of at least 100 oz in is good, metal or plastic gear is ok usually, as for exhaust there are quite a few to choose from but the alloy HPI pipe is pretty decent and not too awful loud, some like the dynamite 086 also it depends on your spending budget... also consider a center skidplate it will help save the brake discs from impacts, RPM makes them in several colors to choose from

Read the forums. It is quite amazing what is possable. You can change all the parts to aluminum or titanium or run it the way it came and fix what breaks. My first mods were tires and gearing. Then servos when the original ones died. I needed a new body so I painted one. Then I got the LRP bug and did that. It's a hobby. Do what makes you happy.

I figured servos we're weak when they wouldn't hardly turn wheels sitting still. And I will look for skid plate. I'm more worried about rocks getting in the geats. Thanks

Cool I ordered that, meant to get a wheelie bar at the same time but forgot, argh. I guess I should wait till I can actually get this thing started reliably though.

Hi everyone!! I'm new on this site an only been running a savage for about 6 months now an I was wondering if anyone could help with a gear set up an what's your thoughts on the hpi ribbed pipe? Thanks.

HPI ribbed gives good power down low but is stupidly loud. I have one in a drawer somewhere. Ran it many years ago when I had more open places to run. Even then, it annoyed me to run it.

Might want to start your own thread and list out the specific truck, engine, tires, transmission and terrain so people can give an informed answer about your gearing.
