Hey Guys, Still excited about the purchase of my brand new savage x, however when I was going through the package of spare parts I noticed that I am missing the 18 tooth clutch bell. Is this something I should take up with the LHS, should I contact HPI, or should I not worry about it at all. The box still had the factory sealed stickers so I know I was the first to open it up. Thanks in advanced for your help.

HPI has great customer service and I'm sure they'll hook you up. They have sent me replacement parts in the past that could have easily failed because of user error, but they took my word on it and hooked me up. Easily, THE BEST customer service I have ever dealt with!

didnt you say you bought a Savage X rtr? Never heard of one coming with a 18t cb from factory.

Yep Freddy. Last year or so they came with 2 differernt size CB one for off road and one for street according to h pi. But they don't send them out with 2 any more my newest truck didtnt come with a extra CB but the very first one I bought did. Maybe economy hit them hard enough they decided to save a lil by not sending a second CB?

According to the manual this should be included in the parts bag. Not a big deal, however I heard it can add an extra 12 mph.

go to LHS, and see if he'll give you one, my LHS would, if not call hpi, they have great cust. service

ya my savage x rtr "4.1" came with the alum diff housings and a 18t clutchbell in the box but not installed lol

I don't know about an extra 12 mph, but I haven't ever changed my gearing so I don't have the personal experience to say for sure. What is the stock size? I though it was a 17t CB. I don't know if one tooth difference on the CB would add 12 mph, would it guys? Sounds like a lot.

To be honest I'm so new to this, that I wouldn't know any better, but I stumbled across this review that mentioned the extra clutch bell. This review mentions that a 15t cb is pre installed and an optional 18t included. Mike your right I have a 17t pre installed. Must be an older review but here the link if you want to check it out.
