so here is my question... i have a Xl roller on the way from stickhobbies, but i want to get the parts orderd for a mid tank mod. so are the XL plates better for this then the FLM extended LCG plates?

the flm plates are much thicker than the stock xl plates & are pre-drilled for heavy modding.

to do the mid tank, your gonna have to at least relocate your t/b servo & the flm ext lcg's are already drilled for that.

if you go with a smaller tank & depending on how you mount your battery & Tx, you can mount your steer servo in it stock location or, if you go with a bigger tank, the flm tvp's are predrilled to remount your steer servo lcg style inside the tvp.

flm tvp's will take 10x the beating that stock tvp's will take. FLM also has the extreme abuse warranty. (ps, pay no attention to the crappy servo in the pic, it exploded last Sunday n.e. way).

The FLM plates are better for the mid tank. They are low CoG and have holes already drilled for everything that they have. The XL plates need to be drilled and have a plate for the servo in the rear. Worth the money. Much thicker too for bashing.

is the OFNA kit the way to go? or is this the way to go? https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8612

All depends. Banks mod worked sweet on my truck with the F4.6, but when i got the Picco, i had to go back to the OFNA mod caz of the height difference with the Picco carb.

if you do Bank's mod, just make sure you get the link to pull the carb slide in a direct line or it will most likely wear out/damage your carb.

OFNA mod is more "linkage forgiving" because the throttle mixer (swivel) will keep the link to the carb in perfect line regardless of how you set up the linkage from the servo to the swivel.

Hope that made sense ^^^.

thanks for all the info guys. you have been a super help to the new dude.
