Mid Tank Mod

hi guys

i have been looking around and there were some people that have mid tanks and i was looking closer at all of the pics and it looks like there are lots of people around with mid tanks.

I was wondering what is the advantage of the mid tank?. Also wouldnt it lave all of the wiring exposed and the servos.

the midtank mod balances the truck better, by moving the gas tank to the middle of the truck...this supposedly helps alleviate the "half-tank lean" issue as well...

also, the second half of the midtank mod moves the throttle/brake servo to where the original tank location was, shortening your linkage, and giving a crisper throttle response...

as far as exposing the wiring and servos, most people either wrap their electronics in something like a ballon, or rubber glove (some have even used condoms I believe), or even gone so far as to plasti-dip them to seal them off from the elements...or created a new location for them, in a smaller, or different style radio/battery box...

look again at most of the pics of people's half tank mods, and you may be able to figure out specifically what each one did (or pm them and ask...most are happy to help)...

I'm still trying to to find out what "half-tank lean" is would you pls be able to help but i have been looking at a tank guard but i have been told some bad reports about them.

do you thinkit is a worthwile mod if you are oinly bashing around the back yard and occasionally racing but no hard core racing
