i was wondering how diffacult it would be to make your own parts.

1. how expensive is the carbon fiber

2. do you need special drills and saw blades or will the standerd ones work?

3. has any one tried this before and what was the outcome?

I have made some stuff. CF is not cheep and standard tools will cut it but there is a lot of dust and it is not easy to make good clean cuts by hand but it is possible.

Most standard tools will cut it but will wear very very fast. As Pope said it is hard to get good clean cuts especially by hand.

A good CF is spendy and goes along with pay for what you get very well.

thanks ill keep it in mind when income tax gets here. i want to shed weight but don't want to sacrifice strength, will the CF take the hi flying jumps like the metal ones?

Larsenracing runs/owns Platinum rc products. he makes lots of CF stuff for the Savage and other cars. Check him out. his link is in the post number 3 in this thread.
