Wow talk about lost! I bought the reverse mod with the mixer and the fail safe and since then my receiver went to crap. I broke the antenna off and I just replaced it with the futaba wire charged my hump pack and I have new batteries in the radio. Now for the problem, when I turn on the radio and receiver the brakes and wheels start to have a seizure. If I stay close it stays calm, if I get 8 feet away It does the seizure thing. I took off the fail safe and thought It was faulty and I still lose a signal. I've only had the truck since Nov last year and I don't think my AM receiver is the problem. Any chance anyone has had the same problem? Sorry for the long rant I don't want to pay 50hr at the LHS Cheers!!

How well did you replace the wire? Did you take the reciever appart and re solder the wire to the board? If not you need to or you will lose signal.

Really wierd... I have a stock X 4.6 reciever I could hook you up with for cheap just to see if it solves the problem?

It may have got wet. I've seen some receivers do some wild stuff like that after contacting water. I hit a puddle upside down with my RC10 once at a race. I got about a half a lap in and the thing just went nuts. I got really close to it and it settled down, walked about 15 feet away from it it'd go wild. I replaced it, and it was good. I then bought an RPM receiver box, never had a problem after that. 🙂

I hope you figure it out bro. Try re-soldering the wire, or try another wire. Could be a multitude of things.

Upgrade!!! don't spend money to fix the stock crap if you can afford to get something nicer

take your pick. they are both very good and reliable systems. i have the futaba 3pm, and its amazing. ive had it for 3 weeks now, and i still haven't finished messing with the settings. the only feature i don't like is the abs, but i guess it helps with the lifespan of the diffs. who knows.

Every time I have had weirdness with stock radio it always was the crystals- either too lose internally or bad connections.
They are cheap enough you may want to try those.
Cheers!

Yea my buddy and I have both had this problem with the jittery servos. One of the things that causes it is the "Engine Noise" created by random loose metal on metal contact. Check the insulation on your wiring to be sure there is no exposed strands of wire. These will be more prone to cause RX interference on crappy stock AM recievers. The spring on the brake lever rattling around was just enough "Engine Noise" to mess up my friends RX due to a close fray in the wiring. We replaced his spring with a piece of gas line and tightened all the screws. I simply just upgraded to the spectrum DX3 and never worried about it again.
