OK so i started a thread about how i lost my air filter and was tearing down my motor to check it out. I'm putting it back together now and wanted to make sure I'm putting it back together right.

The only part i have a question about
I have the piston, connecting rod, and that pin that holds them together.

The pin has one end open

so when I'm holding the piston that part that is open faces the carb right(i can see that much in the instructions) then the connecting rod goes with the side that has the groove in it facing the carb as well and the pin goes in hollow end facing same way?

Hopefully i explained this correctly. I found manual for the motor online but its not clear enough to see the connecting rod and pin orientation.

The piston should have a machined area up into the piston for crank clearence at bottom dead center, that will go towards the back of the engine.

I don't understand. I know which way the piston should face just making sure i put the connecting rod and pin the right way.

I downloaded the manual and have the manual that came from it but you cant make out how it goes. i found this on lrp site

So i have it assembled like that. then that part with groove on the connecting rod faces the front of the engine right. not the backplate.

OK sweet i have it the same way Blazer. now when i put it back in the engine that part faces forward right?
