Hi guys, I figured I would add to the engine mods thread with a few pics of some engines I have done.

Robin (Purenitro) does great work. I love my Picco. i have engines modded by RB, AB and Extreme(purenitro) and my next one will go to Robin. Hes a guy you can call and tell him exactly what you want and youll get it. Not a mass production modder. He treats every engine as his own.

Nice post! Good to know. 4 SURE.

Sweet work:resp:

Very nice work pure, and thanks for posting this just as I'm taking my lrp apart, I like the intake ports, very nice work there. + rep to you.

Thanks guys, I do have a lower turnover rate (by choice) so I have the time to mod an engine as if it were going in one of my RC's. All the extra polishing is a trademark, not to be confused with big power gains, although it all helps with the main purpose "airfuel delivery".

Here are a couple pics of grumpy's engine. The grid lines make for a real challenge to get good pics as the camera has to be exactly lined up, both were a touch off :duh: but it shows the semetrical angles and cuts on the sleeve.

I can't remember which engine it was but your ability to recreate from a picture is very good. I was pretty surprised when I saw your rendition of this pic, excellent job!!!

theres my inspiration right there, thats what made me enjoy modding so much, seeing a stock sleeve change so much, I don't think I ever gave you the props on it, but thanks for showing such nice pictures, I did this mod to an axial .32.

that is some great work pure.I got a lrp and I know where i am going to go for modding.

Thanks guys.

Your tallent is progressing there larsen, it will get better with each engine you do 🙂

I agree Pure, I'm trying my best and just enjoying it. My brother thinks I'm crazy and asks why I am doing it all the time. I guess when I started I kind of got a itch, now.

I agree I am learning more all the time.

I'm the same way larsen, everytime I open up an engine I see something I can improve on everytime, I'm also always looking out for my dremel by buying new bits to keep my cuts nice and clean, I don't know about you guys but I use a dremel extension( I call it a snake) that helps me instead of holding the dremel for hours on end.
Pure is that 1211 sealant in the crank?

You bet it is, it's the only sealant I would put "in" the engine as it is fuel proof. I wouldn't use anything els because if it was to break down or come loose, you are looking at big problems.

I have a "snake" as well, but I just use my dremel, it feels more solid for me. It is starting to get hot when I use it now, I busted out all the loovers so it can get more air and I also greased the bearings but it only helped a bit. Maybe it's time for a new one lol. Poor dremel 🙁

my dremel has a problem holding steady rpms, sometimes when I'm doing really tricky cuts I have it at a very low rpm, and it just shuts off, then comes back with a vengeance lol.

Did you change the timing on this lrp?

Replace your brushes. settings 1-6 quit on me I got a new set and she is 100% and steady after like speed 3 1-2 are shakey

The brushes look long and in good shape still, mine will wander in rpm even at high speed, I'm pretty sure it has to do with the voltage fluctuations in the power supply for our town. I use high speed for most of my cutting, I just adjust pressure and stroke for the finishing cuts, I don't recommend this unless you have hundreds of hours of dremel experience lol.
I don't think an engraver would be any use as you have to remove material with it.
Thanks again for all the kind words guys 🙂
