removed my head to put the nova racehead on and noticed some carbon and like burnt spots on of the piston and button what can that come from to hot to lean after run oil something to be concerned about???????? thanks.:duh:

Sounds like it was ran lean.Do you have good smoke trail when you run it.

very good so much it looks like a misquito truck ithink its the after run oil i might be rong .its not carbon. my temps are 220 the hottest but my hand held say 180 and my telemetry say220 still under the max point.and maybe a gallon threw it if that,i remember when i got my buku and tunning it the pipe came off the header i noticed a whistle sound but that thing ran then i noticed it maybe it ran lean then i'll tear it down every half gallon. thanks.

Could it be blemishing from the ARO?, because its suppose to cut nitomethanes properties to neutralize its caustic effect of rust. On top of my piston I have the little black blotches but i been through a gallon and a half on the F4.6 with my temps being around 180 to 230.

Parkermarsh posted a pretty nice link for the different deposits, pretty nice read in case it was a form of detonation or something. Hopefully everything is alrighty then.
