I 've heard mostly great, spec 3.proformance but, there's been some reports about a short lifespan.....I talked to friend on the inside of LRP and he asured me those early life reports are very few and the ones that do come in are engines that took an impropper break-in. I'm definately going to snag one as a legitimit upgrade to a k4.6

OK, well.. One thing you should be patient and do is the break in, I did the heat cycle method of racernine.com.. Just run the engine without pushing it to the max for about 1 gallon.. After that gradually start going to the extremes!! When I was driving around after heat cycling it (still break in though) I just couldnt resist but went full throttle for a sec, and also mind you it was really rich, the thing wheelied, don't do my mistake and go full throttle for the fun of it, it feels soo good that I couldnt stop going full throttle.. But I haven't had ANY problems with it yet.. Until about 3/4 gallons keep the throttle max to about 3/4..

Stellar verbal review...You have repeated what my lhs dude said about the early lrp engines..I witnessed 3 savages well tuned with 3 different engines with 17/47 ratio with 3 speed tranny on stock dirt bones go at it toe to toe...
one lrp, one sh, one axial. I seen some great power range!!! If its possibly maybe a video? More feedback please !!!!:jamout:

So, out of the three....which one showed spank? ....If were talking z28r, I would guess to hear the LRP, without question. The lrp nitro's are fairly new on the scene compared to alot of other other companies time at the mill. LRP started thier nitro line, and began releasing thier mills in 2004 -2005ish, I believe. With the arrival of the z28r spec.3, LRP went right for the jugular as far as, quality, spec 3.rated, proformance. You can be sure, A patient break-in can hatch a nuke walnut in the spec 3 class. The LRP z28r stands as a clear and worthy upgrade, to any 1/8th scale, RTR Big Block, this is my bet. If STS wasn't already in the game, with powerful budget-classed racing engines themselves,..... The LRP z28r Sp 3 would be earnning alot more attention and praise for it's race specs. and affordabilliy about now.

the lrp Z28R spec3 is 1 hell of a grunty motor and the deal with the short life span is crap i ran mine in on 25% 5% and 5% just be nice run it rich like as rich as it will without stalling for approx 25 - 30 tanks

First Pull

Ok so it starts on the first tug...gotta love that:10: One question though, any suggestions on how to get the pullstart handle up away from engine, it is very low.
