Iv fitted an RSC kit to my savage and when i was putting the wheel bearings into the spindles/rear carriers the bearings were very easy to put in, like they just fell in with zero resistance lol i was expecting to at least have to give them a little push in or a tap with a socket around the outer race, they need to tapped in and out of the stock plastic knuckles and going into my integy rear carriers they were very tight.
Anyway i fitted the rest of the RSC, i have one rear wheel off right now while I'm waiting on some wheel nuts and i turned my truck over while i was fitting my BB's and the rear wheel bearing just fell out! and i have to constantly keep pushing it back in while the wheel is off.
When i spin the axles the bearings are so loose that the outer race spins in bearing carrier in the spindle/rear carrier (new bearings) and when i wobble the axle i can see movement, maybe a few thousands of an inch between the outer bearing race and the RSC!
Also with the little bit of back and forth play on the axles the bearings come out of their carriers in the RSC maybe 1mm~ even with the wheels fitted, and nuts tightened.
I was just wondering if this is normal for the RSC, am i worrying over nothing or have i got a defective kit?
I was thinking of using a little low strength bearing fit to hold the outer race, what do you think?
Thanks.
