whats the price they are asking for it.... there are very good engines out there for 160 range and they are .28 size

i am thinking for some extra bux you can get a better engine for the truck, but I do know SH does make some decent engines, I recently replaced the .28 sh in my MMT with an Ofna .32 and only paid 135 shipped off a seller on e bay...
one thing to beware of are some of the sh engines were used in budget type cars and trucks and I understand some of those are problem prone.....
which Savage model do you have currently (there are several versions) this may also be a deciding factor in which engine to get as some of the high HP engines available do have the power to destroy components that are not up to snuff as far as durability goes, things like spur gears, differentials and tranny gears may need upgrading to stronger parts....

the savage RTR Truck i am on the same page as you I'm wanting to upgrade some parts any way, I have done the suspension all ready so my next project was gears and a new three speed trannh

I have a Savage 21 RTR Truck with the ss up grade kit and I'm thinking like you need to up grade gears and would like a three speed tranny also

Well if you are gonna go that way with it would be a shame to put a wimpy .26 in it when for a few extra bux you can have a powerhouse of an engine ..... just food for thought. may as well put in a v8 instead of a underpowered 4 cylinder.....

the 3 speed trans seems to me weaker than the 2 speed trans, the output gears are very thin and the first gear is plastic on the 3 speed, dumping a standard 3 speed trans don't make any thing stronger or faster from what ive read on the net

I know theres better ...... I'm getting the lrp .28 spec 3, it would seem its the best all round engine, plenty of beef also quite easy to tune, tho I'm sticking to the stronger 2 speed trans

Ya I like that engine also, but with the upgrades on my list I was trying to get a nice motor relatively cheap for the time being and seeing this one caught my eye. thanks for the info on the trans am definitely keep that in mind
