Just broke this baby in. Whats the best mods (If any) to start with. My Local hobby shop told me not to bother with any mods. He even told me that the original plastic parts are better as they "Flex" a little in a crash. What is the easiest mods to start with. Cheers

I'm more of a bike man . However i might go for the new body.. I was thinking on performance parts or the Purple hop ups. Are they really just for show?

I would read up first before you go off on a buying spree and learn the hard way... there's alot of questionable and even out-right rippoffs out there, inaross69.
Do your research before you buy.
The losi shock conversion is one upgrade the recieves my approval.
A battery hump pack is another.
And a high-torque steering servo is also a smart purchase.

Stay away from alloy upper A-arms.... period.

Just my two cents.

Yes I Agree, Hump Pack Is A Must! A Stronger Servo For The Steering Is Needed And Move Stock Steering Servo To The Brake- Throttle And I'm About To Do The Losi Shock Conversion So I Agree With That As Well! And Its Just My Opinion But A Center Skid Plate Is A Good Idea As I've Never Liked How "open" It Is Under The Savage I Bought The Rpm Skid Plate Its Pretty Much Bullet Proof And Alot Lighter Then The Aluminum Ones! The Aluminum Ones Only Look "pretty" For About 5 Minutes As The Rocks And Stuff Ding It Up Bad!

Yea.. I like the skid plate idea too, but not so much for protection, but rather for the rigidity it can add to the entire chassis assembly. Other than that,.. the wieght really starts to add up.

Ya I Noticed With The Rpm Skid Plate It Actually Screws Into Two "braces" Which Are Wedged Between The Chassis Plates so they act like chassis braces Which I Figured Would Prevent The Chassis From Flexing As Much! My Original Fear Was A Rock Flying Up In There And Causing Damage But While Installing It Noticed The Other important Advantage! i do like the way alum looks but in my opinion not worth the extra weight as u said!

Good Call Doob Though On All The Hop Ups Out There, I Must Admit I Had Plans At First About Buying All The Alum Stuff And Making My Truck A Real Looker But Have Learned Thanks To This Forum That Alot Of The Plastic Parts Hold Up As Well Or Even Better Then The Alum Without The Weight! Its So Easy To Get Caught Up In The Bling Bling, I Know I Almost Did! YEP I'm A NITROHOLIC AND PROUD OF IT!!!!! LOL

If something breaks let us know and we will tell you if you should replace it or upgrade.

Worthwhile Upgrades

Battery Humpack
Losi Shock Conversion (Any shock upgrade really, even the hpi aluminum shocks are good)
FLM LCG Chassis
OFNA Throttle Brake Mod *Highly Recommended
When you finally kill you tires get some nice new ones with at least a 1/2 offset

Purple is a personal choice but let me say this, there was a time when I liked the purple too. I'm happy all I bought was a purple pipe.

I haven't made the the jump to the FLM LCG Chassis or the Ofna break conversion yet, but I do think that FX is right on track with adding to the sensable up grades that make good on there claims of quality and proformace.

If the Nitro GODS permit,... I'll be getting FX's reccommended suggestions also.
Thanks FX.

YOU BOUGHT A PURPLE PIPE?.....FOR SHAME, ...FX!!!!lol:whipit:

I still have the original tyres. THEY JUST WON'T DIE!!! I don't like the dirt bonz much but I haven't tried a different tyre.

Yea ..I have to admit...
Those frickin HPI tires could survive a nuclear holocaust and still be barrel'in past turn 5 on a gravel road somewhere.

If they just made them with a stiff sidewall that kept them from springing into a tail spin everytime you get it over 25 mph.

I know what you mean........after almost 10 gallons of fuel through 2 motors my stock tires still look 75% new

I would start out with a hump pack, failsafe, motorsaver air filter, ofna throttle mod. Drive it, when somethen breaks, upgrade.. unless there is somethen you just like, then ask, as most of us have tryed most of the parts out there and can tell ya if its worth while.
Depends some aluminum parts are for show, while others work well... just depends on what your wanting out of your rig. It is a very durable truck in stock form...
