Judge my glow plug.

Hows it look? Whats it mean? What should i do about it? Its been broken in and almost through it first gallon and still trying to get a good base tune going. I thought i had it at one point but it was running too hot. Maybe because its really hot here in Houston, maybe its because cause i suck. Should i replace this plug, set the needles back to stock and start over?

Also, rather than making another thread ill also ask about my idle gap. Is this too much or too little?

Plug looks ok. Just looks like it ran hot for awhile. But if all the coils still light up its ok to keep using it. And what was to hot to you?what was the temp? The engines run different temps so dnt go by the guid to much. Its just a base guid. But 270 280ish sometimes is the sweet spot. I just stay away from much hotter than that. As for the idle gap. Looks Lil to much. But it depends on how the engine wants it to be.

It got up to 199 once. Now it hangs around 240s but i think its pretty rich. Gonna richen the HSN and start over I think. I'm not getting wheelies as much for some reason.

They need to rub around 240 or 250 ish. 200. Is still to rich.

Oops I meant 299. At one point it hit 299 in the middle of a hot day outside.

Yeah 300 is really pushing it way to hot. Yet to keep under 270. But some engines love to rub hotter. But 300 will kill it.

Cool thanks for the help. I went back to stock and started leaning it. It was still rich when it started screaming and running really good. Crazy how every day weather can change a tune so much. Throttle servo died before i could lean it out anymore.

No problem. Yeah gotta tube daily and if weather changes during the day you'll have to retune slightly in some cases. And when you find the sweet spot. After that you can over tube it and lose performance. Just watch for good smoke trail and listen to the engine. If it revs up and stays there for a few seconds after letting off the throttle its slightly to lean. On the high speed. So just watch for it you'll get it.
