looks good jay. i just ordered them desperados for my baja. love teh look.

Thanks frddy!

The Desperado's do look great but they are bloody heavy, my Flux does land with some vigor.

Still have a few things I'd like to do to it, want some nicer, thicker TVP's but not sure whether to go with the FLM XL's and get them anodized black or the TCS Black XL's?
Have a Vorza ESC tray to mount at some point too and shims for the centre transmission. Might even do a Nylon Rollcage because I'm buy paying the prices that guy in Aus charges! lol

Oh and I'm still looking for a 1400-1600kv motor which would suite the larger Desperado wheels, what changes are you making to run then frddy?

theyre on my baja.

i run much lighter wheels on my flux. theyre are certain things i just wouldnt change on an r/c because of the effects it has.

D'oh, perhaps I should read things properly before jumping in with a reply!

Sorry fella!

Hey guys, you'll have to excuse me as this is my first thread here and despite having a few years forum experience I'm actually a little nervous. lol

My HPI Savage Flux is my first HPI vehicle and obviously my first Savage, this is not a build thread because I just can't compete with some of the builds on this forum. They're freakin' awesome!

My Flux 2350 was bought used from a forum member here in the UK and despite being a 2350 it came with an HPI Blur ESC and Torx 2200kv motor from a Vorza Flux.

Did a couple of basic mods shortly after getting it, switched the battery boxes so the doors open out, removed the stock door catches and added Velcro straps (please excuse the Losi straps, all I had at the time).

By this point I'd done some reading up of some Savvy Flux threads and found some great ideas so placed some orders for some parts.

  • HPI Savage Flux XL Conversion Kit
  • EDIT Racing Joint Bars
  • Alza Racing Bulkhead Conversion Kit
  • Alza Racing XL Motor Plate
  • Golden Horizon Servo saver Assembly
  • HPI Savage Sway bar Kit
  • Simply RC Screw Kit

With the Alza Racing XL motor plate I found the stock mount for the ESC looked odd mounted in the stock placement with all the extra room so had to come to a decision, my thoughts.

Alza Racing XL Motor Plate.

Stock.

On the plate to the side.

On the plate centred.

With the centre option I did consider using the Traxxas ESC holder and drilling a couple holes through the plate but I found this fowled the motor and diff pinion outdrive so I opted for the centre placement on the motor plate but just using tape. Still have yet to run it for a longer period to gauge temps with less air flow.

Will get some more posted soon, thanks for looking.

JayJ.

PS. Sorry for the poor picture quality!
Where did you buy the EDIT ALU Bar from? I have been looking but can't find it for the life or me.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi mate,
I got mine from eBay, brand new mind.

Hope that helps.
