Morning Savagers,

I've got a pretty standard rtr 4.6 Savage X (Secondhand to me) and I have a query.

Once you have started it and warmed it up, whereabouts on the throttle trigger should the revs begin to increase?

If that doesn't make sense, I'll try and explain it a bit better.

When driving the Savage, if I release the trigger on the hand controller (so it automatically goes to the middle of its range) the savage will start to pull away quite quickly. This means I have to hold the trigger slightly forward to stop the Savage shooting off anywhere while I am tinkering.
I would have thought that the 'neutral' position of the trigger, would mean it'd be neither braking, nor would it be increasing the revs.

Is this right?

If not, how do I go about fixing it, please?

Also, what would make it stall when stationary, even after it has been warmed up and run for a good 6-7 minutes? Whenever I stop the truck, I never know if it will keep ticking over or whether I'll have to go and start the thing again.

I've just realised this may not be the right section for these questions, but I'm suffering from 'MAN FLU' so please be gentle with me...:duh:

Thank you team!

Mark

i'll take a stab at your savage rolling forward when the trigger is in the nuetral position.... your idle is probably set a bit too high.. if this "rolling forward" is happening when the mill is warm & your trimmed all the way down, its time to turn down the idle screw on your mill...
.
as far as the stalling when idling goes, how long is the mill idling when this happens? a few minutes?

Also, check your throttle trim on your TX, make sure the adjustment knob is not all the way to the right, it should be set to the middle or just ot the left of the middle setting. If the trim is set correctly, you may need to adjust the idle screw as mentioned.

Its also possible the LSN may be set to lean causing the engine to idle high and then stalling out.

So your using a stock unit? If so check the batteries and then just maybe try better ones.Yea yea I know It's not the batteries 90% of these problems are battery strength related. Check that and try again!! If not get into the trucks electronics and the settings on your transmitter make sure everything is clean and dry. If no one has messed around with stuff this should be an easy fix, aND IF NOT POST UP AND WE WILL HELP YOU FOR SURE. lOTS OF SMART PEOPLE ON THIS SITE!!! gOTTA GIVE THE SITE A SHOUT OUT SORRY JUST HAD TO DO IT!!!

Thanks Gents. I would let you know if your suggestions worked, but SWMBO has got me on all sorts of chores this weekend.... Gutted.
Roll on the summertime when you can still go bashing at 8pm.....
