Is this glow plug igniter okay and what’s the best hump pack for my x 4.6

Hello all,

I’m look at buying a hump pack and igniter. I’m fairly new to the whole nitro scene so please go easy on me haha.

I have my eyes on this:

Prolux Glo-Gun - LiPo Glow Igniter With LCD Screen​

The main reason being is I believe it’s charged with a micro usb which I have hundreds of. I also have a tamiya charger for my roto start so if I could get a hump pack that can be charged using that it would be great.


My main questions are:
1) What battery will fit without adaptations to either connections or the receiver box size (tamiya charger if possible)
3) will the igniter work on the savage glow plug (I use a no.8 if it makes any difference)
4) is the igniter recommended.

Any information/recommendations would be fantastic and I thank you in advance for your replies.

Thats an expensive glow starter but it is LiPo with a gimmick screen. It will fit your nitro engine. I suspect most still use a NiMH battery glow starter. Hump packs will not have a Tamiya plug, as they use small servo connectors like jst. You may find a jst to tamiya adapter lead for charging. A cheap charger like imax b6 comes with most battery connectors you will need.
