Is the normal on the starter

Hi all..

I looked thru the manual and looked thru some of the threads but I didn't find the answer.

Here is the question:

On the back of the engine where the roto start pin goes into is this supposed to be loose? I looked at and the two screws that I can see do not go all the way thru the starter. Is this normal? It almost feels like it is going to come off, it hasn't but it feels like it.

Just wanting to make sure I didn't break anything. It starts up and runs fine.

yes, that's normal...it will wiggle and wobble...it's a free floating gear that meshes with another gear inside the rotostart backplate...

the 2 srews at that point do not go all the way threw. the other 3, both bottom and uper right mount to the engine back plate. check them make sure there tight. if everything is tight and the case isnt coming apart it should be ok

Thanks for the info regarding the starter. I was getting kinda worried. All the screws are tight, it just felt like it was going to fall off!
