So picked up a couple of savages just before xmas for spares. One of these had a Innovative-RC Losi LST shock conversion kit fitted to it. It wasn't in the best of condition but I have now refurb all 4 shocks with new seal, O rings and 55wt oil, clean and polished up all the ally parts, a new set of bolts & O ring on the top shock stand-offs. They now look half decent, the only reason I wanted a set of these was to go on my extended low CG IRC truck.
Fitted the front setup the other day but today fitted the rear part, as need to strip the rear end out to fit the turnbuckle re-locator bracket, which allows for the turnbuckles to be moved from the rear to the front of the lower A-arms, I am still missing the lower arm mounting blocks which move the shocks closer to the diffs making them more upright. Have been on to Rob at IRC and he has put a set in the post today so will fit these when they arrive, so have temporally used some shock spacers I had so as to use the original lower mount holes for now.
Anyway here are some pics of the finished result.1673554687980.jpeg

Looking good mate very sweet, how come the lower arm mounting blocks were missing from donor savage though?
Don't know mate they just were. A lot of the videos on YouTube have them missing aswell. You can get away without them as I have but I just want them to make the kit complete. You know that OCD thing.
There are to different types, one for the old non-X lower arms & one for the X arms, these aren't interchangeable so maybe it's because people upgrade or change their lower arms and then find they can't use the brackets they have, I don't rightly know.
But like I said emailed Robert and although showing no stock on his website does have them in stock and has put a set in the post. No mention of paying for them from him, just said he would send me put them in the post today, hope my dog bones turn up with them.

These are the blocks for the Savage X lower arms:

These Brackets are used on the early Non X arms, HPI #85047 the ones with the shock fixing hole on both sides of the lower arm. With the 2 holes on the small bent section locating with the 2 holes either side of the arm where the original shock would mount and the 3 holes in the other end being 3 different mounting points for the LST shocks to relocate to.

Well explained as ever mate, the X version looks like a sturdier & better design! 👍🏻
Evening bud, funny you say that as I like the bracket version myself, think the X version looks abit bulky but like you say defo looks stronger. He has the full kit in stock for the non X version so I would expect he has the brackets separately to. /anyway he is sending me the X version blocks now so will fit them when they come and see what I think.
Had to put the Eagle 6 spoke wheels on it to increase the ground clearance as with the HPI Trendz it smacks the floor when doing the drop test. Am searching the web for some shocks of the same sort of diameter but abit longer, early days yet but sure will find sommit.

Lol missed that headline must admit try to avoid the news it’s just all doom & gloom mate! 👎🏻

So the brackets arrived today for the lower X arms. Get them now fitted and I must say that with them now on the truck has got alot more of the suspension travel back, without them fitted the lower arms would not move down passed the horizontal position due to the shocks bottoming out. they have also made the shocks feel even smoother by allowing them to sit more upright. There are 4 adjustment holes for the bottom of the shock to fit with each one allowing the suspension to have more drop. I have them set at the moment in the 3rd hole so the arm aren't at there lowest point.

Left side has no block and is at max drop, Right side has the block fitted with the shock in hole 1 for max drop.
