lol its a cheaper solution thats for sure... when i did that to my brother in laws truck i lucked out ,Ieven found a screw that was the same as the original one just a lil longer in the bag o savage screws i ebayed for like 3 or 4 bucks.....ive ebayed a cpl of those bags.... always good to have lots of spares around........ hell who am i kidding.... i keep almost enuf new spares around to build another savage............wait a min now that i think about it.......all i need is a tranny.. hmmmmmmm it may be time to build me a new truck

Not that i am saying the way you fixed your pipe is wrong but here is the part you need to do it right. Instead of rigging it. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001168449&I=LXFKM4&P=K

I had purchased the whole exhaust package from Tower, and I just installed it tonight. You need this set of peices here that was linked to you from X25,

*use a Phillips #2 driver and come from the other side of the truck and through the TVPs, loosen up the screw from the side of the TVP and pull off stock exhaust holder (Where you screw it into, closer to the front of Savage)

*Take Silver Mount w/ a small amount of Blue Threadlock applied to help keep it held to the TVP and screw the mount to the TVP, the way its machined makes it a flush fit against the TVP

*Install the exhaust coupler, fit Pipe/Header, Install to Savage

*Threadlock the set screws that hold the exhaust spring.. just a little preventive maintanace..

*Sit back, and enjoy..

but for $7, you can install it the way It should be.. and even better I told ya pretty much how the instructions informed you how to do it. I just added the use of the blue threadlock in small amounts to take the extra mile

hope this helps

Been running around and didnt get on the www for a couple days so I'm just getting all this new info! I have it secured right now like you said big worm, seems to be secured good. I also bought a couple lots of screws from ebay, cheap to. Thanks for that link x25, and thanks for your input and directions nissan driver21. Since its only $8, I'm gonna order it and keep it handy in case worm's method gives me problems down the road. So at least Ill have it in my collection of extra parts! Damn this site and the people are awesome, I am glad I found it!!!!

I think this is what big worm meant

I tried to take the best pic I could, hard to see since I used a stainless screw. That stock plastic arm may snap, hopefully it doesnt, but I'm not worrying about it Ill deal with it when and if it snaps. Very secure, thanks again big worm

Yes, it looks a little stressed.. but If you get the rest of the kit, the peice that you insert the set springs into is what takes place of the arm and is very secure... The arm isnt used, instead the aluminum set spring mount takes place of it.. here are two pictures, the first picture is emphasizing the use of the aluminum spring mount and the second picture is a picture of it fully installed to the truck and ready to rock! Hope this helps..

yes that helped, the pics helped even more. As soon as the kit comes I will be using it. Thanks bro!

Aint a problem, glad the pictures helped.. This pipe is definitley worth the money, I was pleased with the way it performed compared to the stock "composite plastic" pipe..

Got the kit and now the pipe is mounted the right way. Big thanks for all the help and pics, and I agree Nissandriver21, I'm very pleased with the pipe!

There's no better upgrade you can do for power for these trucks. And cheap.
