Stick to more popular ones. JR, Futaba, or Spektrum. Their popular for a reason, they work. If you want to take the chance buy it and let us know how good/bad it works.

It's a no name radio that's looks cool. I wouldn't spring to buy it until you have real life information about it. Test results ect. IMO your radio system is the center of your rc world. Think of how much wrench time you put into your vehicle or vehicles how much money you put into this hobby/addiction. Imagine how you would feel to see your $500 savage take off at wot seconds from a body of water or the woods or a busy road.... But you will have a cool looking radio in your hand.

I say if you want a good reliable radio get the futaba 4pl. I don't even like the spektrums anymore after numerous loss of signals within 75 ft. the pope was there, I was warming up the savage last year and boom, it just took off all crazy toward a drainage basin filled with water and clipped a fence post, flipped over, threw a wheel then I guess regained signal and went back to idle.

i bought the flysky gt2 from hobby king for 20.00 and so far so good and they have the one you are talking about for 35.00.

I few of us on here already have this radio. No one has reported any issues with it. I have used mine for about 2 weeks now with no problems. It does have a failsafe (I have never tested mine). If you want to get a 2.4g radio without the hefty price tag try this one.
Mine was $35 with free shipping.

I bought the radio mentioned in the op. I haven't found any issues with it. In my oppinion for the price 35 for tx and 7bucks for recievers. It is well worth it.The little bit ive used it,it seems to perform as well as my spektrum.don't allways have to cost alot to be good!

This is a very good entry level radio. I won't claim that it has all the featues of one of the higer end Specktrum models, but it also doesn't have the price. When I finally got tired of my glitchy AM radio, I began the search for a good 2.4ghz system. The lowest I could find (before being turned onto the FlySky) was about $100, and that was for systems with no information screen. My logic was that for $35 (transmitter and one receiver) with free shipping, I couldn't really go wrong. The above mentioned incident with the Spektrum just proves that even the expensive name brand stuff can go wrong.

For the backyard basher/racer, spending $35 bucks gets you almost all of the features you'll find on a Futaba or Spektrum radio.

It may not be constructed as well as the high end radios that you need a mortgage to get nor do I expect Dennis Anderson to be sporting one at his next event, but guess what? The radio works?

Sticking with a name brand does not always guarantee performance. The only thing guaranteed is the high price you're gonna pay.

I have enough expensive hobbies that I can't really spend a lot of money. I'm the guy who loves cheap mods and information on inexpensive equipment that performs well. For those who want and can afford the more expensive radio systems, more power to you. For those of us doing our thing on a budget, this radio is the bee's knees

I hear ya... Let me preface this by saying this is not a generalization towards any of my fellow HPISF members...

In this hobby, there's always a chance that those who have the most expensive radio have the least experience and absolutely no clue about the hobby. They bought it based on hearsay or advertising alone. It's like people who buy Bose speakers because of the name. They have no clue that there's other speakers that would put Bose to shame.

Guy's with years of experience in the hobby and those who are involved with competition rc racing are almost certainly using high end radio's. They should be.

In no way, shape or form am I saying that FlySky radio's are better than Futaba or Spektrum radio's. It's a matter of choice, budget and being smart.

What one guy can get done for $100 bucks on his truck may take another guy $500.

And if you are using a $300 radio, I'm sure you have $35 bucks. Get yourself a FlySky radio and see how it is. You may like it. Who knows...

these points are good enough i guess.

I'm not a fan of clone parts in the first place... all the time and money you put into your models (whether air, land or water) in the end comes down to controlling it.

in the modeling hobby, there will always be areas where you can utilize a cheaper part but, personally, i would never do that in the Tx/Rx area. I learned this lesson the time i used the stock wall-plug charger for my hump pack and almost lost my $1,000.00 + savage into a swamp, so purchasing a $100 hyperion charger became money well spent.

Just remember guys.... Its one thing to spend $150 or less for a futaba or speky 2.4Ghz that will have more options then you will ever use. Its another to lose control over your model that you spent several hundred (or more) on, hurt somebody or destroy it.

Likewise frddy, the points you make show a whole other angle to the inexpensive alternative.
Although, they may get the job done, there is as much higher risk when using them which could result in damage to the truck totaling more than the initial cost of a Futaba radio.
Those who dare, run this risk alone but can't say there was enough info about it on HPISF.
