Hi,

I am kind of exicited, I did my first jump today!!! Any tips on how to not flip it over on her head, or is it just a lot of pratice? I haven't been in the air long enough to play with the throttle and brake while in the air, does thaat really help? I guess the higest I got it was about 4 or 5 feet, the highest one's is when it flipped. I guess I got luckly cause it did flip back over on its feet each time.

I guess I am just going to have to start with lower jumps till I get the hang of it better. I am jumping off a lawn chair with the back at its lowest point. Around 30 degrees or so.

Woo Hoo WTG!!! And yes brakes/throttle really do help but you need good air to get the hang of it and lots of practice and take vids of it as well!!Dave

yes using the brake-throttle in the air does make a big difference if it looks like its coming down back tires first u just tap the brakes and the nose comes down!! if its coming down front first u hit the throttle lightly and it levels out. as was said takes practice i still don't have it down completely!! lol

SJ is right, you can destroy the spur gear too. A light tap on the throttle will bring the nose up for a nice landing.

Let off the gas as you leave the jump will help alot too. WTG have your wings in no time.

Not too much though. You'll get the hang of it pretty quickly. Don't worry about breaking the savage though. Jump on grass if you want to save your body. I have never broken my truck jumping at WOT on grass. I did a little bit of damage when I did it on tar though (I was a long way away, not a good idea). stand inline with the jump. It sounds silly but it makes lining the jump up a lot easier. We usually stand after the jump so the truck lands in front of us. It's not as dangerous at it sounds, if the truck comes at you out of control just stop it like a soccer ball. It won't hurt it.

Yeah don't worry about the savage IT won't get hurt. But I know from experience a savage WILL take the feet right out from under a 185lb man. But the savage felt nothing. So all was A OK.

I heard that! DOOBEEWHA took me out that way...LOL he came up behind me. dude I'm 180 and FLIP down I went lol SAVAGE kept on going...:10:

I've been hit at full speed by an LST2 and I barely felt it. It must have been the way I was hit. It' didn't do any damage to the LST either. I didn't think the savage would have enough mass to be able to take someone out. Learn something every day.

Oh yes hit my left foot which took out the right foot and landed on my elbow and limped around for a week but then ran the savage into the sky so I got my revenge lol

i did my first real "launch" today lmao my savy ended up wedged under a car parked in the parking lot!! chewed up the engine roll cage a little and scuffed up the body but thats it! lol its a good thing i had the engine roll cage on or it would have been my heat sink taking that impact!!and its a good thing that car didnt sit any lower or my savy would have been toast!!

THE NERVE OF SOMEONE ACTUALLY PARKING A CAR IN THE PARKING LOT IN MY WAY!! LMAO

So, how high have you guys had your savage's? What's the height's of the ramp's peak to ground and angle you guy's have jumped off of?

this should be a good learning experiance. (plus it will give me a height to beat:10:

I've had my savage probably 12ft in the air off a steep 3ft jump to flat landing. I have seen a lot higher though. I have seen a stampede go just as high and a lot longer and it survived (for a while) but that was off maybe a 5ft jump. My mini t has seen higher but we were catching it instead of letting it land. Next time we head to the bmx track I will see if I can get a video. Bmx tracks are great for big jumps and broken parts.

I have never used a ramp, sorry I just hit anything I can find, Hard as I can hit it. Biggest was probably a 4' hill sent me maybe 12 to 15 feet in the air for about 30 feet. where SJ and I go has a good hill with lots of spots to hit usually good carnage comes from there. Used to ramp a pile of gravel dumped out of a dump truck (gone now) got serious air and hangtime but landing on the pavement was Brutal to say the least, that pile tore up alot of trucks. but was fun.

How do people react to these nitro's, I mean when you find a place and there is no one there to ask about running them there, do you get run off? I guess the worse thing is getting a warrnng or asked to leave??

I found a spot (close to home too) that looks like fun but Inever see anyone there to ask, I will post a picture from microsoft maps, It looks like it could be some funn, I am wodering about running it on the beach too, I know there are times and places turtles lay eggs and stuff like that but there usually marked wih sign's. I am tired of the back yard and street. Not realy tired but I am ready to go elsewhere.

If Its not posted or fenced Its a good bet its a go for situation. not like your out there in the fullsize 4x4 ripping it up. Most likely if there is a problem you will be asked to leave first. Anything is possible I guess but hey your only playing around. I have been asked to leave a site. Most poeple are intrigued by these and most likely just ask you to leave if there is a problem.

that is a nice spot,i go to a skate park when no one is there or a nice job site works

That is a nice video Wister And a real nice jump Sami. I'd say that guys video is worse then average as a lot of people use their savages as street racers. I don't get that. Most people are curious about these cars and usually you will just get asked to leave before you get arrested as long as you haven't broken in to anywhere to drive. The worst I have heard, one of my friends had the cops called on him when he was driving a street car in a school car park on a weekend. The cops just asked him to leave but he got the ****s with not being able to drive anywhere and sold it after that. When I first got my truck I was driving outside my work just outside hours and surprisingly no one cared. Only problem is it gathered quite a crowd. Not really a good thing.

That is a nice jump, you guys are crazy standing in front of them like that, I would be a lot more likely to do it but I am all messed up physically and would hate to get hit plus I can't move very fast. That video just got me cause he drove it off the roof like that, being a newbie it just suprises me when I feel the weight of these trucks then think about it falling that far. It looks like that guy brok it in half at the end, doesn't show how it ended up like that. Is it very likely to break one in half by jumping like he was?

I got to get some sleep,

John

i broke my 4.1 in on the parking lot behind my house and i don't get kicked off but i always seem to draw a crowd! lol i end up with even seniors watching me!! i thought i was in trouble once when a cop pulled in but he just wanted to watch to!! theres no other nitro rc trucks or anything around here so my sav x seems to be really popular! lol
