Check it out.. last night after installing HPI's High speed idler 39T gear i had to have a test run this morning. I must say this gear added a wicked fast amount of top end. The truck I'm sure will handle alot better with different tires but i had to give it shot with what i had mounted. As you can see they balloon like crazy. With the stock gearing i got maybe half of that ballooning. I had to make this video for you guys to see for yourselves. Bare with me.. traffic.. err.

I'm running the following:
Lipos: (2) HYPERION G3 VX 6500 MAH 2S 7.4V 35C/65C
Gearing: 20T Pinon / 44T Spur

Saw a vid on the tube with a savage on a 4s doing 53mph! Here you go.

Cant imagine what its like on a 6s.

Anyway i really want to install this but wouldnt doing this create more strain on the motor?
Wouldnt the esc get damaged from over heating...
And most importantly how does it effect your low end torque??? Wheelie still on demand if you want?

What are the pros and cons basically.

yeah i can still wheelie all day.. had to change my drive gear to an HD one ASAP. The esc fan does kick on pretty quick with this new gear.. But i have been running it for at least 2 weeks with no issues. Oh and standing backflips are still there rockout

is it such a big deal if the fan is on? could the ESC Blow? i have an HD drive gear coming, think i may need to order one of this idler gears right now

Careful on that one bro. that ESC is only rated for 24V, 6s is 22.2v (on paper) and you'll prolly get 24V or higher with a good charge.

this gear will definately make your mill & ESC work harder much the same if you threw a larger c/b on your nitro.

Now, ive never done it (nor seen it done) on 6s, but given these factors, the outcome is probable.

ill get my car up and fully running with the new DB-17 TVPs. Ill run it on a 6s and check the temps. The extra weight might cause enough strain. So depending on that i will look into the 39t idler. Its not such a vital mod right now.
