I think Chris runs a Hyperion pack in his Truggy, i will pm him & ask him to reply.

i copied this from the website, can it possibly be true?

"The fact that they can be safely charged at up to 5C rates - for charge times as low as 10 to 12 minutes - is just icing on a very tasty cake."

Thanks for the heads-up Fred.

I do use Hyperion packs and also SMC...my only choices currently. I'll go into details a bit later on.

Has any member used these Hyperion Generation 3 LiPo Poly on their Savage Flux? http://www.allerc.com/index.php?cPath=3_4_93&sort=products_sort_order&page=3

If so, would you kindly write your experiences good and bad?

Not only did you pick one of the best brands out there, but also one of the best online RC shops as well. All E RC is one of Hyperions' major distributors along with Empire RC. All e is amazing to deal with (have dealt with them in person). Tell them Chris Faulk sent you if you buy there. hehe

Two of my packs had an *off* cell that wouldn't balance with the others...contacted All e and was told to give it a few cycles to see if the cells would balance out. One pack came around and began balancing perfect while the other didn't. All e replaced it without a question.

Very high quality packs, but I will still only charge at 1c. As with any other battery charging at those high rates will reduce charge time AND lifespan.

thank you frddyj & Chris.

@ Chris: are these soft-case packs? and if so, do you find that sand could become located inside the pack to cause damage?

You're welcome. Yeah soft and I don't see a need for the hard packs yet even though I race...my packs are all very well secured in their holders.

If you're worried about sand, then I suggest what's called self-fusing silicone tape. Can get it at a good price on feeBay in various colors.

3m for the win! I use this tape on satellite installs to water proof my connections. Very good stuff!
