Got a brand new HS-645MG for my steering and after an hour of running it on my Savage XL, the gears inside is already messed up. It only turns one way now. I bet it's stripped on the inside. What a bummer! I am sending it back to Hitec for warranty repair. What do you guys suggest for the Savage XL. My guess is that this servo is too lightweight for XL Terra Pins. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Horn checked, I actually pulled it off and see that it's only turning one side. It would turn to the other site but it takes about 2 seconds or so and it's making some weird noise.

Yeah, sounds like the internal gears.

I always thought the 645MG was too weak to be a steering servo. That's just me though. I like to have a servo that's at least 200oz. Might be overkill, might be not. But it usually also has speed with it.

i too am not a fan of the 645mg, but only caz it lacks torque & speed.

you can upgrade to a servo that has more torque & speed,

but you'd be better off to check your servo-saver first so your new servo doesnt suffer the same fate of stripped gears.
