I am new to nitro RC cars and was just looking for some advice on how i should go about maintaining my Savage? What do you recommend doing and how often etc ? also how do i it?

Thanks

Basic maintenance is to check all screws and bolts after every run, check clutch shoes and bearing after a few tanks, clean and relube bearings after about 10 runs... always run the fuel tank empty... never leave fuel in the tank as it will evaporate and leave a gummy residue to clog the fuel system up..... your manual gives suggestions on maintenance practices to use as a guideline...

If your truck is going to sit unused for more than a month, then unplug the receiver, take batteries out of the transmitter, put 3-4 drops of ARO down the carb and glowplug then turn the engine over a few times without the heater attached to lube up the internals so they don't rust too bad on you.

For general use though, also make sure to check your axle cups, especially the center ones on a savage. They like to wear and get notches in them from the dog bones. With enough wear/time, they will actually hang and snap the dog bones on you. I've found it's less of an issue on my X than it was my old savage since the trans output is better lined with the diff input, but they do still wear.
