I only had this truck since the end of April of this year and it seems like every time I take it out something breaks on it. I have finally repaired all of the mechanical things that needed it and had a few good runs (I even geared down my pinion since I got some new wheels/tires that are slightly heavier). It has been running very well for about two weeks now. I don't bash this thing hard at all for fear of breaking it so no "sending it to the moon" type stuff just tooling around in some dirt and my back yard.
After a normal run I brought the car back to me to power it off and take the batts out. I wanted to turn it on once more to spin the wheels to spin out any dust/dirt from the tires only to be met with 4 flashing green lights on the ESC and no 6S motor chirps noting the battery cell count. I still have servo control, the esc fan comes on fine and the controller is bound properly. I thought, maybe overheating but there was no indication of that on the motor nor the esc and I checked with an IR thermo gun - everything was within spec. I went through the bind process once I got it home but nothing seems to get it past the 4 flashing green led's. I disconnected one of the three wires to the motor (pink cover if that makes a difference) and THEN I got the 6S chirps from the motor. I didn't want to try the throttle without all the motor wires connected.
This is the stock ESC that comes with the XL Flux v2. I've read the manual 6 ways to Sunday and there is no mention of this blink code in there anywhere. What is going on with this thing? WIth it only being less than 6 months old with no abuse I really don't think the ESC should have failed. This was given to me as a gift so I am not even sure that if there was a warranty on it that it could be honored anyway.
