i just picked up what i was told was a savage x 4.6 for $45 got it running has no transmitter or receiver..also missing battery box cover..battery holder and on off switch..when i look up parts battery box does not look like mine..mine has a single pin in front were a clip attaches..everyone i see online has what looks like a twist mech..to open box..any help would be great..

Welcome to the site brysonsdad!

The twist clip style is the "X" style battery box. So if you don't have that then you have to have the savage 25 style battery box. That also means you do not likely have a savage x 4.6. If you could post some pictures of your savage we could tell you more.

Tower hobbies, rcplanet and amazon usually do well.
thanks..also of note this truck is equiped with roto start engine..would this be something that was upgraded if so how do i identify engine..thanks

so i found out the truck haa a sportswerk.26v2 engine..now my problem is i think one way bearing is bad would this be a hpi part on the engine or did engine.come with roto start capabilities..it was working fine till my son flooded it now part spins but piston does not move.any help would be gladly appreciated.

I believe that engine came as a pull start. I've seen people say using a XTM 24.7 backplate with a HPI S-25 rotostart plate works. You can certainly order a new OWB, but first I would try cleaning it. Often you get oil build up on them and they slip.

so today i pulled engine back plate off found engine has an internal owb..the housing that holds it has cracked..were oh where can i find one?its a sportswerk .26vn..help help

no mine is interal mates to con rod ill see if i can post picture tomorrow unless I'm not seeing everything in picture..remove roto start back plate is inside has four cogs where con rod mates to spin engine

says right in the description is for a sportwerks v2 :ercm: so I have to think it is correct part.... you only get the backplate in this sale so you need to transfer over your existing parts to the new part......

not the part though says for pull start i have roto start thats just the plate mine has a bearing pressed into a circular piece with four cogs ..I'm not seeing that in picture

If they used the XTM backplate like I said in my above post, then this should be your one way bearing:

I'm having a hard time finding one in stock though....

Those One way bearings are pretty stout, I would try cleaning it and see if that works, by your picture it does not look to be damaged any.....
