HPI savage 25

I have an HPI savage 25 truck but I have not run in probably close to 15 years just before my wife got sick and has passed away. I am looking to buy another engine because I’m sure this one is probably seized can anybody please tell me the best way or what engine I should say would work it also had the Rotostart I think it was called. I would definitely be OK with getting rid of that it was a pain in the butt to keep the battery charged all the time just to start it.

Nitro engines are less common so really depends where you are or having to import. Pull starts are ok once you learn not to over pull. SH, LRP, Dynamite Big red 28 are all reasonable basher engines. They will produce more torque so make sure your diffs are good, metal case with 4 bevel gears, 29/9 gears will last longer than 2 bevel gears, 43/13 gears, but it really depends how hard you bash and jump.

I’ve been looking at the Force28 for my Savage21 truck, from what I’ve learned/read it should bolt up and roto start should work , which I have (the original to rotostart) ..I’m in the same boat as you SCSTERNER, but it’s only been about 10 years since mine has run, my engine isn’t seized and I believe it should still run, but I’d like to upgrade to a more powerful engine! Sorry to hear about your wife dude 😔!
