HPI Roto Start Upgrade....HELP PLEASE

I have a savage 4.6 that was given to me. It didn't run when I got it and I now have it running however it takes forever to get it to start with the pull start. I would like to convert the pull start to a root start. Could anyone recommend a pull start conversion kit. The current setup is a m28 nitro engine.

Gonna need a couple extra things to use a rotostart unit, a 6 cell battery and charger for it, a roto unit with wand and whatever rotostart unit your engine requires.... a couple of pictures may help ID which exact engine you have in your rig

I have a mach 28 in my setup. photos attached. I also have a rotostart2 and wand that the guy gave me but the engine is not set up for it or wasn't. It was set up for a pull start and the string popped today. Reason I'm just trying to convert to a roto start.

From past experience, you are better off with the pull start. You're having problems getting started either due to an improper tune, a poor glow plug or a weak battery. Pull starts spin the engine MUCH faster than the roto start. When properly set up it should only take 2 short, quick pulls to get it running.

But for those of us who are old and frail with bad shoulders a roto unit makes things so much easier... my all have either a tigerdrive or some other form of rotostart and I have never looked back..... after a quick prime my stuff fires right up within a turn or so with zero issues..... so in my opinion it is a toss up as to which is best I just know I prefer the convenience of just putting on the igniter and pushing a switch to have a bit of fun.....

I totally agree with you. I'm in that category. I just remember a few guys some years back that converted their stock Savvys to pull starts and we were stunned by how fast they started.
Mine is still the roto start and I have no plans to change it.
