hey guys ..i figured id show a way to do ghost flames that are really simple to do ..i actually figured out this technique by mistake .. it was a paint job gone bad then decided to turn it into ghost flames...
i started by masking the whole truck with liquid mask... i used parma fasmak.

then just cut out the flame patern with exacto knife.. wasnt to clean on the lines but meant to do it roughish cause theres actually 2 layers of flames..i cut out the whole flame patern.. the top flame as well as the back flame but the back flame i cut sorta deep into the plastic... it will give you the gouge to let the paint seep into..
then i pealed the main flame back .. the one that is on top of the under flame...
then once it was all masked out i painted the first set of flames using parma fascolor red http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDD14&P=ML
then i dried it with blow dryer . did second coat .. then when it was dry i took the liquid mask off... and heres where i found out how to make it ghost looking ... it came out kinda crappy when i peeled the mask off so i decided to wash the paint out .. well you all know how hard it is to clean lexan ..so as i was washing it i noticed it was leaVING THE RED PAINT ON THE LEXAN IN THE FLAME SHAPES .
so i just rubbed it enough to make the red kinda see through.... then with the red washing away i rubbed it into the other flames i gouged out so it made the flame outlines the same color red as the first set of flames but the flames itself was still clear.... then i went ahead let it dry .. and with the bumpers windows n tank still masked i sprayed spazstix candy apple red

on the bumpers and tank. i whent over the whole inside of the truck with the mirror chrome to give the candy red a anodized look to it and the parma red a chrome look to it . .the last step was to peel the window mask off and i used parma black deluted with water to make a tint,,,.. these are the results .... hard to see in sun with camera .. but in real life it came out sick looking .. flames pop in n out due to the way the sun hits it... heres a few pictures .. hope this helps someone .. don't be afraid to just try things out you never know you might be surprised at the results you get ...good luck happy bashing ....
